In Loving Memory of William Jesse Arrowood, affectionately known as Jess, born on October 2, 1948, to William and Margaret Arrowood. Jess, the 3rd eldest of 9 children, left this earthly realm on December 29, 2023, after a brave 10 year battle with Dementia.
Jess graduated from RS Central High School in 1967 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971. On December 19, 1984, he joined hands in marriage with Anita Ford. Together, they created a beautiful family, welcoming their daughter Kellie Melissa in October of 1987.
For over three decades, Jess was a familiar face at Broyhill in Rutherfordton and Torrington, now Timken, where he brightened everyone's day with his comical and caring personality. His coworkers and friends remember him as simple, selfless, devoted, admirable, and loving. A patient, calm, and caring man, Jess had a way of making everyone feel valued in his presence.
Beyond the workplace, Jess found joy in simple pleasures like cutting grass and camping in Cherokee and Pigeon Forge with his family. His daughter Kellie, who married Derek, brought four wonderful grandboys into his life—Ethan, Trenden, Paxten, and Abel—each of whom he cherished deeply.
As Jess peacefully transitions to his spiritual journey, he leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, and laughter. In honoring his wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, Jess invites us to celebrate his memory by finding joy in everyday moments, just as he did throughout his life.
Jess is reunited in the afterlife with his parents and siblings, Geneva and Linda. May he rest in eternal peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire us to embrace the simple pleasures and selfless love that he so beautifully embodied.
