Veronica Rooks

Veronica Mary McGuigan Rooks, 81, of Vale passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at Trinty Ridge. Born March 17th, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Thomas John McGuigan and Estelle "Stella" Warliga McGuigan. She was a devoted member of Queen of the Apostles Roman Catholic Church in Belmont, North Carolina for the over 30 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a son Stephen Rooks (Laura) of Vale and their daughter Amy; a daughter Cynthia Wells of Hickory and her children Tyler, Bryanne, and Adam; and three sisters Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Faulker (Daniel) of Florida, Jean Dwinell (Jack) of North Carolina, and Elaine "Lanie" Warfield (Gordon) of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Billy Walter Rooks; five siblings Thomas John McGuigan, Terrence McGuigan, Rosemary Boyer, Elissa Selvoski, and Bridgette Warfield.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 at Queen of the Apostles Roman Catholic Church, 503 North Main St., Belmont, NC 28012. The service will also be able to be viewed through the church's website . A private family memorial will take place at a later date.
