Tina Carey

Tina Berlinda Carey, 55, of Hickory, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Smoky Ridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born on October 9, 1969, she was the beloved daughter of Evan Chatman and Katie Carey Card. Tina was known for her loving and kind heart. She found joy in spending time with her family, especially her mom and grandchildren.

Tina is survived by her mother, Katie Card; her three children, Sentel Carey of Hickory, Jeric Carey of Hickory, and Katie Carey (Melchisedec) of Dallas; and her cherished six grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Card (Subrina) of New Bern, William Card of Newton, Carolyn Carey of Durham, Gail Chatman of Georgia, and Kung Fu Chatman of Georgia, as well as her close, longtime friend, Larry Taft of Hickory. She leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will remember her kindness and warmth.

Tina was preceded in death by her father, Evan Chatman; her stepfather, Jessie Card; her grandparents, Dan and Vera Bell Carey; her aunt, Charlotte Carey; her uncle, Eddie Carey; and her cousin Anthony Brown.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

She will be deeply missed until we see her again.
