Nancy Laraine Henline

Nancy Laraine Henline, 77, of Hickory, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025. Born on May 16, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Robert Clay Henline Sr. and Gertrude Forga Henline.

Nancy attended Meredith College before earning her degree from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1969. She began her career as an educator, teaching at Hudson High School and later at North State Academy.

A distinguished and accomplished professional in the real estate industry, Nancy earned numerous honors throughout her career. Her passion for real estate extended beyond sales to include developing properties and earning her contractor licenses. She owned and operated Henline Properties and, most recently, was a valued real estate agent with Keller Williams. Real estate was not just her career but her lifelong calling.

Nancy was a proud former Miss McDowell County and competed in the Miss North Carolina pageant in 1966. She embodied grace, determination, and a deep love for life, always staying true to her favorite song, Frank Sinatra’s “I Did It My Way.”

She is survived by her two brothers, Larry Henline and wife Karen, and Robert Henline and wife Pamela; and by her nieces and nephews: Max Henline, Jackson Henline, Hartley Henline, Brittainy Henderson, Madison Scibetta, Natalie Barkley, and Stephanie Payne.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Henline.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, in the Chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home. Following the service, the family will hold a private burial at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM before the service in the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
