Michael Paul Hadley, 42, of Hickory passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023. Born September 18th, 1981, he was the son of Chris Chamberlin and the late Paul Hadley. Mike was born and raised in Iowa but lived the last 18 years in Hickory, NC. He enjoyed woodworking, playing Xbox, riding his motorcycle, going out on the boat, car audio, and attending car audio competitions. He had a passion for music with some of his favorite performances being underground and up and coming artists. Mike loved to spend quality time with his family, friends, partner and their pets. He loved all things "horror" and also enjoyed many shows such as The Office, Parks and Recreation, Schitt's Creek, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Game of Thrones, Letterkenny, and Kingdom Hospital.
He is survived by Laura Tipton of Hickory, NC, his partner of over 15 years; his mother Chris Chamberlin of Iowa; sisters, Ginny Chamberlin of Iowa, Melissa Hadley (Shane) of Kansas, and Erin Watkins of Virginia; a brother Mark Collier (Cindy) of Tennesse; his grandparents John and Phyllis Burns of Tennessee; his mother-in-law Pam Tipton and father-in-law Norman "Tip" Tipton of Hickory, NC; and beloved pets, dog Maya and cats Link and Selina.
He is preceded in death by his father Paul Hadley; his grandmother Marilyn Leslie; and brother Daniel Chamberlin.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home at 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
The celebration of life will be live-streamed on Caring Cremations Facebook Page beginning at 3:00 PM.
Memorials may be made in Michael's honor to the nonprofit Recovery NC. It is a nonprofit that was important to him and helps to bridge the gap for those who need treatment or housing but are not covered by other funding.
