Marshall Williams

February 12, 1964 — September 21, 2023

Marshall Ray Williams, 59, of Conover, passed away Thursday, September 21st, 2023, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born February 12th, 1964, he was the son of the late Sidney Ballard Williams and Sylvia Virgina Williams.

He spent 22 years working for Republic Services as a supervisor for the recycling plant; he was a very hardworking and kind man who selflessly gave everything to others. He was always the jokester and never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. Singing and listening to music was his favorite pastime, and he never met a stranger he didn't like.
Marshall took pride in being the protector and provider for his family and took the title of the most comfortable pillow to cuddle; his family meant everything to him; his wife, children, and grandchildren were his entire world, and he will live on in their memories.

He is survived by his wife Diane Williams of 34 years; two daughters Amanda Sue Williams of Conover and Savannah Dawn Pope (Justin) of New York; two sons Shelby Ray Williams of Maiden and David Ray Williams (Caroline) of Vale; five grandchildren Evelynn Williams "Rosebud," Josiah Williams "Buddies for Ever," Joanna Williams "Button," Brayden Williams "Peanut," and Harley Williams "Munchkin"; three sisters Dorothy Washington of Whitesville, WV, Sarah Smith "Cricket" of Whitesville, WV, and Ada Evans of Charlottesville, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Sidney W. Williams "Dickie," four nephews Sidney B. Williams "Dickey Lee," Dewyane Evans, Charles Dudley, and Sydney Dudley; a brother-in-law George Washington and his best friend James Morgan.
