Margaret "Maggie" Theresa Eckert, 63, of Hickory died Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born Wednesday, July 22nd, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Captain George Henry Eckert Jr., USN (retired) and Mary Elizabeth Eckert. Maggie had a lifelong devotion to dogs and leaves behind her 3 beloved dogs Ares, Chase, and Ollie.
She was survived by her husband Joshua Kott of Hickory; two sisters Kathy Kennedy (Rick) of Estero, FL and Mary Dyson (Mike) of Potomac Falls, VA; two brothers Mark Eckert (Scoobie) of Tequesta, FL and Christopher Eckert (Kris) of Vienna, VA .
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother George Eckert III.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
