Larry Joe Eckard, 84, of Newton passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Conover Nursing & Rehab Center. Born October 27th, 1937 he was the son of the late Emery A Eckard and Neta Pearl Sigmon. He retired from Broyhill Furniture after 20 years of work. Larry loved to travel playing BINGO and enjoyed selling cars for friends.
He is survived by his daughter Nora Weaver (Benny) of Hickory; a son Joe Eckard (Anita) Of Catawba; six grandchildren Chris Pope, Tamara Pope, Ashley Pope, Quentin Weaver, Shannon Eckard, and Crystal Higgs.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Eckard.
The Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 14th, 2022 at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
