Joshua James Brandy

Joshua (Naomi) James Brandy, 33, of Newton, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at his home. Born February 17th, 1991, he was the son of Bruce William Brandy and Mary Helen Brandy.

Joshua was a beautiful and bright soul who overcame many struggles in life. Facing challenges with his identity, Joshua became more comfortable being known as Naomi. Joshua (Naomi) loved his family; they were always there for him when he needed them most, always ready to provide support when he needed it. He held a special place in his heart for his Grandma Helen, who can be affectionately remembered giggling late at night with Joshua (Naomi) while trying to complete homework! He is loved unconditionally by his parents, who will continue to keep his memory alive.

He is survived by his mother and father, Mary and Bruce Brandy of Newton, NC; a sister Shannon and her 8 month old son of Valdese, NC; an aunt Karin and her two sons of Maryland; and several cousins in Cleveland, OH.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Grandma Helen.
