Joseph Gero

Joseph Nicholas Gero, 74, of Denver passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Atrium Health Lincoln. Born August 17th, 1947 in Cornwall Vermont; he was the son of the late Charles and Mable Gero.  Joseph loved listening to country music and Elvis Presley. He enjoyed spending his time outside, baking or simply just with his family. Joseph was always there to be your biggest supporter. He was loving, caring, and selfless; and he never had any trouble getting you to laugh with how funny he was.

He is survived by his two daughters Jamie Gero of Rutland, VT and Melissa Atwood and husband Donald Atwood of Denver, NC; three grandchildren Austin Atwood and fiancé Becca Hunter, Kayley Atwood, Makayla Pilkey; a great granddaughter Cora Atwood; eight siblings Beverly Forgues, Ethel Sequin, Rosemary Gero, Mary Anne Gero, Patricia Walker, Cathy Gero, Connie Mayfield, and Carolyn Hargett; his former spouse Linda Lizotte of Sherrills Ford, NC; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four siblings Elizabeth Handrichs, Charles Gero, Harry Gero, and Edwin Gero.

His family is honoring his request of remembering his life without any elaborate services or calling hours.
