Johnnie Mcneely

John William McNeely, 72, was escorted home to glory on July 1, 2024. John was a long-term resident of Rock Hill, SC, after being born in Columbia, SC, on October 2, 1951. He operated a successful small business for most of his life in Rock Hill. He also was a resident of York, SC for several years, living on a farm, in the most idyllic location imaginable - heaven for any youngster. John loved the Lord, his country, his family, and his many friends, followed only slightly by his love of the USC Gamecocks. He was a long-term supporter of children’s hospitals, especially St Jude in Memphis, TN.

He is survived by a brother Steve McNeely and his wife Martha of Kingsport, TN; nieces Kimberly Wiseman and husband Matthew of Cincinnati and Deborah Soudry and husband Josh of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; and nephew Daniel McNeely and wife Heather of Gray, TN, along with his 10 great nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth R. McNeely; his mother Laura McNeely Schultz; and his beloved stepfather Pastor George Schultz, the best human friend any sinner ever had.

A short celebration of John’s life will be held at his longtime residence 426 Willowbrook Avenue, Rock Hill, SC on July 6th, 2024 from 4PM-5PM.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
