Jimmy Suggs Sr.

Jimmy "Agitator" Franklin Suggs, Sr., known by all the kids growing up as Big Jimmy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Born on October 15th, 1946 in Green Sea, SC, he was the son of the late Draudie E Suggs and Bertha Tyler Suggs.

Jimmy grew up in a farming family when he was younger, but moved to Charlotte at a young age, then residing in Harrisburg for about 43 years. He attended Garinger High School in Charlotte before going into a long career as a truck driver, getting his start at Sealtest as a dock worker. From there, he drove all over the country until he retired.

He was known by his trucking friends as “Agitator”. He was self employed at one time with his own trucking company , as that’s what he loved doing.

Jimmy is survived by a daughter, Lori and her family; a son Jimmy F Suggs, Jr. and his family; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Marie, and two sisters Dorthy and Linda.

There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Hope Chapel, 1540 Old Earnhardt Road, Kannapolis, NC, 28083.
