James Foote

James "Jimmy" Edward Foote, 68, of Hickory, NC passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 at his residence, after a recurring battle with cancer.

Born June 26, 1956, in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of the late Regina "Jean" Stich-Foote and William W. Foote. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William W. Foote.

In life, it is your passions that drive you and give you purpose. Jimmy loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, gardener, and hiker. Since retiring from a lifetime of auto-body repair, where he was a mentor to many, Jimmy enjoyed traveling with his wife Carol, dachshund Lincoln, and of course his golf clubs.

But perhaps what he will be most remembered for is not what he did for a living or what he liked to do, but instead for who he was to those who loved him.

Friends and family will remember Jimmy for his antics and mastery of pranks. He was a legend amongst those lucky enough to have shared experiences with him, the tales of which will endure through time.

Jimmy will be missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his love, compassion, loyalty, friendship, wit, and strength.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Hickory, NC; Aunts, Susan Mack and husband Richard of Blairstown, NJ, Ramona Emmer of Deerfield Beach, FL; Sister, Theresa Foote of Wilton Manors, FL; children, Danny Foote of San Francisco, CA, Allison Nagy and husband Scott of Eastsound, WA, and Melanie Fatjo and significant other Mark of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Lark Nagy, Michael Fatjo and significant other Bethany, and Jospeh Lodico and wife Jeniffer; great-grandchildren, Estella Fatjo, Cohen Huffman, Liam Teague, Johnis Lodico, Sabrina Lodico, Samantha Artavia, and Sebastian Artavia; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

A private family ceremony will follow. Condolences can be sent directly to the family.
