Gregory Allen Setzer

Gregory Allen Setzer, 55, of Conover, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. Though he lost his earthly fight, he is now home in Heaven, fully healed. Born September 23, 1969, he was the son of John Lawrence Setzer and Doris Ann Setzer.

He attended IChurch, where he found great joy in serving, especially through missions. He was deeply loved by many, and his greatest passion was ensuring that everyone he met knew the love of Jesus.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Setzer; his children, Hannah Setzer (Eddie Goyco), Zachary Setzer (Gillian Setzer) and Olivia Setzer (Jaquan McCathern); his grandson, Kaiden Goyco; his mother, Doris Ann Goodman Setzer; his sisters and their families, Renee Graham, Tammy Peacock, and Kim Mounts; his sister-in-law, Rhonda McGinnis and her family; and his brother-in-law, Ronnie Cadle and his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Setzer; his mother-in-law, Debbie Stewart; and father-in-law, Ronald Cadle.

A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 5, 2025, at IChurch, at 1740 Tate Blvd SE, Hickory, NC, 28602.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Missions Ministry at IChurch, honoring Greg’s passion for mission work.
